In the movie the Nativity, one of the Wiseman said that Jesus would be a king for the greatest of kings to the lowest of men. The observation goes deeper than just Jesus actions when he walked this earth. Jesus was a king and savior for all mankind.
The scripture says that God so loved the world that He gave the only son that had been given or created by his spirit overshadowing a woman. He was the fulfillment of prophecy that the woman’s heal would crush the head of satan. Jesus being of mankind crushed the head of satan in all in the world who would receive His light. Yet the light of the lineage of the Savior king not only was for the highest to the lowest, but was of gather highest to the lowest.
In the book of Matthew, and Luke is as it is described the lineage of King Jesus. Yet there are differences in the listing beginning from King David. Jesus was to inherit the throne of David forever, and was of the root of David’s father. But from one listing he did not follow the kingly line.. There was only one actual king in his lineage, according to Luke which is considered the human lineage that lead to his only earthly parent, Mary. Of course, the most striking statement in the listing is the phase, “who was the son of God” In this many relate to the first son on God, Adam, and Jesus as the Second Adam, The second son of God. Of course this son was procreated not be the forming of hands but by the seed royal of the LORD God himself, as his spirit touched the humanity of a virgin girl.
So it began with the son of God, who fell in error, and resolved with the son of God in triumph. There was not one that was allowed to resolve the error, except the seed of the Eternal King, because the King is not only to rule his subjects, but to look after their welfare.
Jesus came to earth the Messiah.
• Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Jesus came as a power or with the Rod, or the man Jesse, as an equal to David the King. Meaning that David was not His Lord, thought He would fill the throne that David once held.
• Isa 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
There are other interesting points in the the lineage of Jesus Christ. Some who we would assume to be a part of of the Lineage of Jesus Christ, were not included in the Lineage, by Luke that led to His only human parent, Mary. King Soloman was not included in this lineage.
• Luk 3:31 Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, WHICH WAS THE SON OF NATHAN, WHICH WAS THE SON OF DAVID,
• Luk 3:32 Which was the son of Jesse, which was the son of Obed, which was the son of Booz, which was the son of Salmon, which was the son of Naasson,
•
The lineage turned to a son on David, who is called Nathan. Not another king. Nathan was a son born from Batsheba, who had two other sons besides Solomon. It is strange to see that God chose not to place Solomon in the blood line, but Nathan, his brother. The last shall be first, and the first shall be last.
• 2Sa 5:14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him (King David 1Samuel 5:13)in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
• 1Ch 3:5 And these were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua ( or Bathsheba) the daughter of Ammiel:
Following the sons listed of Solomon, we can see that his sons, the Kings were not a part of the line of Jesus. This shows that the LORD was looking for ordinary people. Yet He is a God to the sinners. Seeing as the mother of Nathan is Batsheba of David who committed adultery and murder.
As we move back in time we find it is note worthy to mention Ruth the Moabites who married Obed who was the father of Jesse and the Grandfather or David. Though Ruth was a reputable woman, and kind enough to take care of her mother in law, by working in the field of Boas, she also kept her integrity by not giving herself to a man until marriage could be secured. Ruth was the granddaughter of Balak, a King of the Moabite, who also were enemies to Israel. Even in His lineage, is love your enemies.
Backing up further, we find that the harlot of Jericho, Rahab, or Rachab married a price of the tribe of Judah, named Salmon. This compassion on sexual sin, and of all, was shown as Jesus walked the earth, and forgave the woman caught in adultery, let he who is without sin cast the first stone at her, he said, then forgiving her himself. The harlots and sinners would go in before the Jews, Jesus said, but we see His foreknowledge in putting them in his lineage. Rahab was a cabaanite, or descendent of canaan, and ham, who was black. Blackness as gentiles were also
In the line of the king.
• Mat 21:31. . .Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you
.
Though there is failure in their lives like Mary Madeline, Jesus is looking for hearts that will be converted to sons of God.
So we move further back in time, we find that Judah, the son of Israel, who is in the lineage, had children with Tamar, his daughter in law. This is a little strange to say the least, and may not have been considered unscrupulous in those times. The sons of Judah who had both married Tamar, ended up dead, because the word says they were wicked, or did some wickedness. It was the practice of people at that time to marry a window to raise up a son (if there wasn’t one) for the deceased son’s lineage. After Er did, the original husband of Tamar, it left Tamar widow without children. It was his brother’s Onan, responsibility to marry her and supply that son. Which he refused to supply the his seed, and the LORD killed him.
After this Judah promised to give to Tamar, his third son Shelah, but he did not do it. Instead, she was returned to her father’s home, and Judah happening that way on an errand mistook her for a prostitute, because she covered her face which was the custom, and sought him out. Scripture says she knew she would pass that way. She became pregnant, and because she was hired by his personal identifiable property, He, as head of the house could not cast guilt on her an kill her. But said, she is more righteous than I, because I did not give to her my son. This act put Tamar, the daughter in law in the lne to Jesus’ birth. Her son, by Judah, Phares was also in that line.
From this we see connection to the tribe of Judah beginning, and the reason for the name Lion of the tribe of Judah.
— Four women are here introduced; two of them Gentiles by birth – Rachab and Ruth; and three of them with a blot at their names in the Old Testament – Thamar, Rachab, and Bathsheba.(jameson fausset brown. )
Jesus was a King for the lowest of men to the highest of kings. From prostitutes to Kings after His own heart.
Luk 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son (of Mary who was the daughter )of Heli,
In this, Mary’s lineage came the one spoken of in genesis that would bruise te serpant head, or leadership in authority for power on the earth. Though he was hurt in the battle, all authority was given unto him in heaven and earth because of Calvary.
