DEBORAH GARCIA & QUEENIE CHARLES
One day my husband and I were visiting in the community looking for souls for Jesus Christ when this feeling of danger came over me. It was not concerning myself, but if felt like my husband’s life was in danger. It was so very strong that I emphatically told his that I was ready to go and go into the car abruptly. When he came to find out what was wrong, I told him what I really felt. He got into the car and went home.
Later that evening he decided to go to Kroger that use to be at the intersection of I-45 and 240, with our “niece” Queenie. I felt the same feeling come over me again. This time, I didn’t want to seem superstitious and silly, so I didn’t mention it. When they left, I just started praying, very hard. I felt a strong fear for his life. I begged the LORD for his protection. Apparently when they arrived in the parking lot of Kroger’s, there was a robbery in progress.
QUEENIE said: I decided to ride along with my uncle to the store; I was thinking we will not be in the store very long, grab some things quickly we in and out the store and back to the house, except this evening, this was not a typical trip. We got out of the vehicle and we noticed immediately two young males running out the store where stocking caps on their face. As we continue to stand in the parking lot, my uncle pulled out his phone and starting dialing for the police, while he was calling, one of the robbers noticed that he was on the phone and he immediately aimed the gun in his direction, my heart sunk and I went into a complete panic I could no longer speak, and I went behind him, not knowing what to expect or what to do. I just watched, and I noticed that the burglar looked stunned; he could not shoot the gun, and kept running.
When my uncle and I had reflected on what just took place, and he stated that he could not see him pointing the gun at him, when he was on the phone. All the while I was thinking he saw the man aiming his weapon at him. This explained why he did not move.
My husband later told me that It was near dusk and in the darkness he could not see the pointed weapon, or hear the assailant telling him to get off of the phone.
On a lighter note, after the robbers fled, the security guard at the Kroger got up off of the floor where he had been hiding behind a brick wall and ran out shouting, “where did they go”. I did not see him working there after that incident.
A few days later there was another incident at a nearby shopping center where what is believed to be the same assailants demanded money of a sleeping security guard. Upon awaking the security guard instead started shooting because he was an off duty policeman. One of the robbers was killed trying to shoot the guard. The others fled. They had the same type of automatic weapons.
We thank the LORD so much for the gift of grace and sensitivity to His Spirit as well as for answering my prayers. I am also thankful that I heeded His warning.
