The Roman Catholic Church was started by Constantine who saw a sign in the sky of a cross and heard in this sign, conquer. Much like Jeroboam, he thought that the conquest that the LORD gave him, also gave him the authority to change the church in any way that he thought necessary. It did not.
One of the things that the counsel of Nicaea of the Catholic church changed was to remove the Name of Jesus Christ from Baptism. There were other changes, but none as devastating as the removal of the name because removing the name from baptism also removed the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ for men’s sins.
In doing this they also rephrased the scripture, Matthew 28:19 to reflect their decision by adding “baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This formula was never before used, and was not commanded by Jesus Christ as many think, but was added to His words by the Catholic Fathers. In doing this they also brought the Christian church closer to the pagan doctrine of a triune god in order to help the pagan accept the church.
.
There were many who knew the original words of Jesus Christ and refused this doctrine. The schism in the church caused the deaths of many who became martyrs because of the original doctrine that Jesus and the Apostles taught was removed. During the course of the “crusades” sponsored by the catholic church, as many millions Christians were put to death because of man changing God’s doctrine by one historian’s reports. Some reports say as much as fifty (50) million. So the result of this change of scripture not only killed Christians of true doctrine, but Jews were also persecuted because of this original monotheistic doctrine. Does this sound like love one another, or love your enemies?
During this ongoing duress, many other denominations were formed in protest to the alteration of God’s Word. Because of this many “new” churches were formed call PROTESTANT CHURCHES because they PROTESTED the new man made doctrine of the ‘Catholic Church, piece by piece, such as Martin Luther in his posting stating that “the just shall live by faith”, and William Tyndale who translated the Bible into English, leading to his execution by the Catholic Church.
Men like these cropped up bringing in as much Biblical doctrine to the people as they could until the time here in America when men finally returned to the words of Jesus Christ, and Peter his Apostle. Jesus said, Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, “this was Original wording of Matthew 28:19, (baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost – was added by the Catholic Church and does not appear in the original scriptures). In other words, Jesus did not say that. What He did say was to teach all nations.
The Apostle Peter, the man to whom Jesus gave the “keys” to the kingdom would say, “Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” The name of Jesus Christ was the powerful salvation element that was extracted by Catholicism. Peter also said, Act_4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be saved.
The Apostle Paul who was blinded by Jesus on the Damascus road for trying to destroy this new way to serve the LORD would later say, “there is no other gospel”, also Collosians_3:17 -And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Here are a couple things that might help. The scripture 1John 5:7 in its original form does not say, “Father, Word and Spirit and these three are one”. This is another insertion by the Catholic Church. This was added in the 16th C by Erasmus at the insistence of Stunica, an editor, taken from a late edition of the Latin Vulgate for the 3rd edition of the Erasmus Greek text. As with Matthew 28:19, these were added by the Catholic Church that created the Trinitarian doctrine to please the pagans coming into the church.
The scripture says, Old and New Testament that God is a Spirit, and that God is One. The mind or Spirit that was in Jesus Christ is the Spirit of God, because God is only one singular spirit, not two or three. Jesus said that I and my Father are one, then would that not mean that He is one with the Holy Ghost, since the Holy Ghost is the one that overshadowed Mary. This would also make the Father the Holy Ghost, or Spirit. Jesus is Spirit and flesh, and we are. The Spirit of God is the eternal Spirit within Him, just as our spirit within us is the one that lives forever. God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit (only one) and in Truth.
Because of many brave men, the Worship of God came full circle returning to the doctrine of the New Testament Church. One God, who is the God of the old testament and the New, the God for all nations, YHVH, who is A Spirit and who walked this earth as a man, Emmanuel, meaning God with us. God with us was named by the message sent through the angel from God, saying call his name ,Jesus.
