THE NEW TESTAMENT STARTED WITH THE OLD TESTAMENT SCROLLS

The people that walked in darkness Have seen a great light; They that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them hath the light shined. Isaiah 9:2

Within the time of the LAW, the mysteries of the coming Messiah and His church were presented to those that would receive and began a new Testament Church. The Old Testament prophecies were taught before and during the time of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that the Jews would have known that Jesus Christ their Messiah was coming. It also taught that it would be a people who sat in darkness, or lack of the light of God, would see the great light. The Old Testament foretold also, that the Jews would be largely cast aside. It was within their word it was written, the sign, that the Messiah was coming and how to recognize him.

First to the Jews the word was sent so that they would be aware, but they weren’t.

New Testament Church started the process by proving things that were in the Old Testament. In the book of Acts we can see that the Apostle Peter told the story of the Prophecies of the Book of Joel. That promise showed that the LORD would send the Holy Ghost and then identified the fact that what they had heard when men spoke in tongues was that Holy Ghost that had been promised.
Stephen spoke of the whole time since the Jews became a people that they did not listen to the Prophets then and they did not want to listen to the prophets now. God was bringing in something new, other than the law to save the people, which was Jesus Christ. As they begin to talk to the people this way the New Testament was being born starting with the story of Jesus Christ himself which was told in four different writings, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. John had the greater revelation of who Jesus was. The book, the Acts of the Apostles, afterwards told what happened once the Holy Ghost fell from heaven and the result of the Apostles obedience.

Once they pulled apart the word separating the two dispensational times that God would deal with mankind, Jesus let Peter know that the people of God would be comprised of Jews, and who they first believed was unclean, like the Romans. The Jews first received the Holy Ghost in the upper room explained it to more Jews, and then were sent to the people in darkness. They began as Apostles to teach the church which would now be comprised of Jews and Gentiles, or “ONE NEW MAN” or people serving the Almighty God.

The historical process about Jesus Christ coming, then called the greatest student of the Old Testament the Apostle Paul. He took the Jewish scriptures, preached to the Pharisees and overcame them in debate, and then was sent to plant churches in the Gentile nations. He taught by the Spirit, the things that were in the Spirit as God began to speak again. The Spirit of God began to clarify the way that people should live under God’s grace. He gave the revelation that Jesus would come again. This God-given blessing comes once men have received the Holy Ghost and baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, God’s grace would begin to cover their sins. There will be no more sacrifice of bulls and goats because Jesus had become that sacrifice forever. The “Spirit of Jesus’, as Paul would say, begin talking especially to Paul and sending him to different places in the Gentile world to build this brand new church. These records became the New Testament of God.

God is still speaking, are you listening?
